Las playas de Noruega

Arena de sobra para todos
Ya que la mayoría de áreas de costa están abiertas al público de forma gratuita, puedes combinar unos días en la playa con actividades como senderismo, kayak o pesca. O pasártelo en grande en el Ártico bajo el sol de medianoche, o vivir una cultura urbana en auge, entre fiordos y naturaleza virgen. Incluso, quizás, avistar alguna ballena.

Unos 1.800 kilómetros separan las playas de arena de Lista, en el extremo sur de Noruega, de las dunas cerca de Vadsø, en el remoto norte.

La segunda línea de costa más larga del mundo cuenta con numerosas playas que son tan diferentes entre sí como el resto del país. Y por si eso no fuera suficiente, también puedes acceder libremente a los numerosos lagos que cubren en torno al 3% de la superficie de Noruega.

Mientras que algunas playas son famosos centros de ocio en los que te puedes encontrar desde familias de aquí a surfistas extranjeros, muchas otras simplemente aparecen delante de ti casi sin que te des cuenta, como un auténtico paraíso que crees ser el único que ha encontrado.

Clima suave

El clima y la temperatura del agua suelen ser sorprendentemente agradables durante el verano, gracias a la Corriente del Golfo, que calienta toda la costa noruega, incluso la parte más septentrional. Por supuesto, todo depende de a lo que uno esté acostumbrado: algunas de las hermosas playas frente al mar abierto del norte y oeste de Noruega son sólo para los más valientes; mientras que en el Sur de Noruega, la temperatura del agua puede alcanzar los 23 grados bien entrado el verano.

En estas aguas más cálidas es donde se abre un abanico de posibilidades en cuanto a actividades acuáticas y en la playa. Surcar las olas sobre una tabla de surf o de paddle surf (SUP) es un ejercicio excelente antes de disfrutar de un delicioso picnic sobre la arena o en las rocas.

Un baño junto a la ciudad, o muy lejos de ella

Si estás preparando una escapada urbana y quieres pasar algo de tiempo cerca del agua, muchas ciudades han renovado las instalaciones que rodean a sus playas o han creado otras nuevas para añadir nuevos atractivos a los propios de una urbe.

Por otro lado, en varias de las playas del norte puedes ver un montón de fauna salvaje, e incluso encontrarte en medio de un improvisado safari de ballenas o de pigargos. Con 239.057 islas a lo largo de una linea de costa que equivale a dos vueltas y media alrededor de la Tierra, está claro que las playas noruegas no dejan nunca de sorprenderte.

¿Qué tienen de especial las playas noruegas?

Comparadas con las abarrotadas playas de otros países, las noruegas ofrecen mucho más espacio, tienen aguas más claras y sus alrededores también están menos concurridos, incluso en áreas urbanas como Oslo, Bergen o Trondheim.

Mucho más que tomar el sol

Resulta muy sencillo combinar un día de playa con otras actividades divertidas, como hacer senderismo, montar en bici, ir de pesca o incluso esquiar. Sí, has leído bien: en la Noruega de los fiordos puedes descender sobre la nieve desde lo alto de una montaña y darte un baño en el fiordo en el mismo día.

El sol nunca llega a ponerse

Muchos turistas acuden en masa al Norte de Noruega para ver el sol de medianoche. Allí, entre mayo y agosto, puedes disfrutar de un romántico baño nocturno, hacer kayak o esquí acuático en las tranquilas aguas, o traer contigo algo de beber y simplemente contemplar el sol hasta altas horas de la madrugada.

Playas de bandera azul

La primera playa noruega que recibió la exigente certificación ecológica de bandera azul (Blue Flag) fue la de Bystrande, en Kristiansand. En el año 2018, hasta 17 playas noruegas cuentan con bandera azul y muchas más trabajan para que se les otorgue este reconocimiento.

El reconocimiento de la bandera azul requiere que el agua sea de una calidad excelente, que la zona de playa esté limpia, que haya socorristas y medidas de seguridad, así como accesos para personas discapacitadas, gestión de residuos y reciclaje, baños y aseos limpios, y suministros de agua potable. 

Varias campañas a nivel nacional, tanto oficiales como no oficiales, han ayudado a crear una conciencia colectiva en torno a la importancia de limpiar las playas y no tirar basura al mar.

ACAMPAR SOBRE LA ARENA

Tarde o temprano, el aire fresco y el relajante sonido de las olas harán que te entre el sueño. Si quieres pasar la noche en la playa o cerca de ella, tienes a tu disposición unas cuantas zonas de acampada para toda la familia, así como hoteles y otras opciones de alojamiento a lo largo de la costa noruega.

Eso sí: recuerda que a pesar del generoso derecho de acceso noruego, no puedes montar tu tienda de campaña a menos de 150 metros de cualquier cabaña o casa habitada.
