Text from the organiser:
OnklP is back! And this time, he’s doing it on his own. This year, you can expect to see him on a stage near you with a new band and more experience under his belt than ever before.
Any introduction is really unnecessary. Whether it’s readers of VG or Dagbladet, rap fans or mothers-in-law, festival-goers or security guards – everyone knows OnklP. Everyone has an opinion. Everyone knows someone who knows someone who knows him.
OnklP has reigned over the Norwegian hip-hop scene for more than two decades. An award-winning lyricist, he has received praise from politicians and public figures alike and has been an important voice in public debate. He has won some of the industry’s most prestigious awards and collaborated with many of the biggest names in Norwegian music across a wide range of genres. Through his strong personality and honest lyrics, he has moved Norwegian audiences from the stage, on the radio and on television. OnklP continues to evolve as an artist through new genres, projects and collaborations, and now he once again stands on his own.
When the ever-energetic OnklP returns to the stage, he does so with dedicated fans from every generation in the audience. Bringing with him his vast catalogue of songs, he spans everything from the Det kunne vært deg album from 2004, via the OnklP & De Fjerne Slektningene hit “Styggen på ryggen” in 2014, to brand-new OnklP material from 2026.
ABOUT BYSOMMER:
Few artists have captured Oslo as precisely as Lillebjørn Nilsen. Through a long artistic career, poetry and folk songs, he gave us a profound insight into the soul of the city. For many years, Lillebjørn and his collaborator Helge Westbye invited audiences to “Bysommer”, a concert held during Norway’s main summer holiday period. We are now continuing that legacy with the Bysommer concert series, where artists who, like Lillebjørn, love Oslo bring positive energy to the city’s laid-back summer atmosphere.
Bysommer takes place at venues including SALT Art & Music from June to August. Read more at bysommer.no.
Age limit: 20+ years.
