Speaker: Palle Ydstebø

Palle Ydstebø is a retired lieutenant colonel from Kvitsøy. He serves as principal lecturer at the Land Power Section at the Norwegian Defence University College (Norwegian Military Academy) and has previously held senior academic roles in strategy and staff studies.

He has extensive international experience, including service in Afghanistan, as liaison officer at the German Armed Forces Operational Command in Potsdam and at the Norwegian Embassy in Berlin, as well as UN service in South Sudan (UNMISS in Juba).

He holds a master’s degree in history from the University of Tromsø and a PhD in War Studies from the University of Glasgow, and is regarded as one of Norway’s leading experts in the field. He is frequently featured as a commentator on NRK and TV2.
