Herstøl - Hommefløyen, Lindesnes

Herstøl is a house with exciting history associated with the Louen family.

From the parking lot you can choose to walk the first road (steep) or the path right next (even steeper but slightly shorter) up to Herstølstjønn. Tarald Louen first came to Odden, a house that you pass by the end of the tour, not far east of Herstøl. Here he founded a family and ran as a cottager under the priesthood, but today it is especially the craft of miniature carriage and wallets that have left their way. More about this you can read about and watch movies as the local cultural office has taken care of the history of these places. If you follow the trail past Herstøl you can take a detour to Kongsknipen, a fairly tall knight with a good view of Vigeland. Further south towards Hommefløyen it is natural to take a short distance to the marked viewpoint over Rødberg. Finally, the highlight of the trip is Hommefløyen / fløyheia. Here you look far beyond Hommesletta with the road leading towards Egeland. You see Snig and outside there again Svinør and Vårøy.

The trip goes back where you came from.
