The secret is that you will always be able to find a beach that is sheltered from the weather and the wind, regardless of which way the wind is blowing!
With its 800 metre long sandy beach just outside Mandal town centre, Sjøsanden is perhaps one of Norway's most famous beaches.
Sjøsanden is located in the Furulunden nature park, which includes several great beaches and rocky outcrops; why not visit Kanelstranda, Lordens, Lille Banken, Store Banken or Spidsbo?
The secret is that you will always be able to find a beach that is sheltered from the weather and the wind, regardless of which way the wind is blowing!
Furulunden has an extensive network of walking paths, and there are public toilest near the beaches. At Store Banken there is also a wheelchair ramp.
The grand mansion of Risøbank is situated by Lordens beach. Here there is a cafè and art exhibition during the summer.
