The Barony in Rosendal the only one of its kind in Norway and a major attraction in Western Norway.

What is Baroniet Rosendal?

Baroniet Rosendal is Norway’s only barony. It is renowned for its magnificent landscaped gardens, including a beautiful rose garden, and for its rich cultural programme featuring concerts, lectures, and art exhibitions throughout the season.

The manor house dates back to 1665 and is idyllically located between fjords, mountains, and waterfalls.

What can you experience at Baroniet Rosendal?

At Baroniet Rosendal, you can explore a 300-year-old Renaissance garden with a wide variety of roses in bloom during the summer. The romantic landscaped park dates back to the 1850s.

Inside the barony, you will find the Blue Hall, the Red Hall, and the Yellow Hall—each showcasing unique exhibitions representing different historical styles.

The landscaped park and Renaissance garden, including the stunning rose garden, have a history spanning several centuries and are an experience in themselves.

Cultural programme 2026

Each season, Baroniet Rosendal offers a wide range of events, including concerts, seminars, and theatre performances.

The 2026 programme includes concerts with Janove, Bjørn Eidsvåg, Sivert Dagsland & Karoline Krüger, Eva Weel Skram, Ketil Bjørnstad, deLillos, Sivert Høyem, and Ingebjørg Bratland.

From August 14–16, the “Classical Weekend” will take place, featuring artists such as Leif Ove Andsnes.
