Saemien Sijte, the South Sámi museum and cultural centre, owns and operates Bøla Kafe. During the summer season, the café is open with a small shop and simple service including coffee and light snacks.
At Bøla, you can enjoy a drink, ice cream, and waffles. The shop offers a selection of gift items, both large and small. For a more substantial lunch or dinner with Sami food, we highly recommend coming to Saemien Sijte in Snåsa. You can find the summer menu here: Kafé – Saemien Sijte
From Bøla Kafe, it’s a 300-metre walk to reach the famous rock carvings. They are beautifully situated by a lovely waterfall on the Bøla River. Along the way, you can explore around a dozen carvings, large and small. Some are not easy to spot – so take your time! The most well-known carving is the Bølarein – a life-sized depiction of a female reindeer. Welcome!
