Brakanes Hotel

Surrounded by fjords, beautiful cultural landscapes, fruit orchards, and snow-capped mountains, Brakanes Hotel is beautifully located on the fjord edge in the center of Ulvik. The hotel, which has 143 rooms of various sizes, has been through several renovations over the past few years to ensure a modern standard. 80 rooms with fjord views were renovated in 2018, while the suites and rooms on the 5th floor were new in 2012. All rooms are non-smoking, many are allergy-free, and 4 rooms are handicap friendly. Dogs are allowed in selected rooms with direct access to the hotel garden.

The restaurant, which has a strong focus on the use of local and regional ingredients, has a great view of the fjord. In the main season, fresh vegetables and herbs from the cooperative farm at Undeland are used in the kitchen. During the summer, one can have the meal served outside in the hotel garden, where the children can play by the edge of the fjord and on the floating trampoline. Here you will also find a brand new outdoor area with a hot tub and sauna with an absolutely incredible view. The small indoor pool is popular for both young and old - all year round.

In the spring of 2015, Ulvik municipalty was approved as the 4th Cittaslow municipalty in Norway. Cittaslow is a network with a strong emphasis on sustainable communities in 25 countries across the world. Brakanes Hotel is dedicated to doing their part in conserving the unique nature of Ulvik through an increased focus on the environment and local agriculture.
