Starting point

Buer in Odda. Drive off from route 13, signposted Buer. Drive to the end of the road where you will find the parking.



About the trail

You will walk next to the river for most of the hike up to the glacier. Some places there are bridges where you cross the river. The whole hike is in wild and lush landscape, and you can see the glacier in front of you the whole way. In some parts of the hike you will find ropes to make it easier to climb. The last part of the trail is in steep terrain, and sturdy hiking boots are necessary.



Important! Do NOT go near the glacier.

The glacier is in constant movement, and going near the glacier can be very dangeours.

Length: 3 km (one way)

Total ascent: 600 meters

Total walking time: 4 hours

Season (average year): end May – October.
