Valdres have many lakes for paddling a canoe, kayak or SUP. Rent a canoe or book a guided tour if you are not sure about paddling on your own.
Lake Øyangen is located just a half hour drive from Fagernes City and 8 minutes from Beitostølen. Spend a half or a full day paddling alone, as a couple, or with friends or family.
We have 3-seat canoes that are very easy to paddle and maneuver. If you'd rather a faster and more agile device, we also have double "sit-on-top" kayaks for rent.
There are 3 seats on each canoe. These are suitable for a couple or a family of 3. A family of 4 should most likely rent 2 canoes, unless the kids are very small.
Øyangen Lake is a very good lake for fishing. The type of fish is Lake Trout and the best method is trolling from the canoe or kayak. If you enjoy fishing, we encourage you to bring your fishing equipment (or rent from a sport store in Beitostølen). You need a fishing license (free for kids under 16) that you can purchase in a local store, or online.
Important! Paddling happens at your own risk when renting the equipment.
