The local sports club Hisøy IL has, with great effort, refurbished the old house from basement to attic, and is now inviting groups to rent the place for accommodation or celebrations in beautiful premises and surroundings. The outdoor area has a scenic and fantastic view of Merdø island, the two lighthouses and the sea and archipelago.
After the Armed Forces withdrew in 2006, the Sandvigen Fort was left empty, and in May 2008 a unanimous city council decided that Hisøy IL could take over the Sandvigen Fortress ("the Fort") at Hisøy.
The Fort is now available for accommodation, courses, team building, training camps, parties, weddings, confirmation and activities.
The fort has:

frisbee golf course nearby. Bring your own frisbees.
