Aurora Chase with Professional Photographers

Join our Northern Lights Photography Tour and chase the lights with our experienced guides. The tour lasts approximately 4–8 hours. If the sky is cloudy, we will try to find a location where there is a chance to see the Aurora. We may even drive all the way to Finland.

We stay in contact with other teams in the region while searching for the best weather conditions, and we decide the best location based on the forecast. Even if there is only one location with a chance of seeing the lights, our tour runs every day regardless of the weather, giving you the opportunity to experience this natural phenomenon.

If we do not see the Northern Lights, we will offer you a 50% discount on your next tour, subject to availability.

Your guide will share facts about the Aurora Borealis and photography, and help you understand how to photograph the Northern Lights with your camera or phone.

Departure time and place: We have different departure times during the season. Please check the calendar for the correct departure time. The meeting point is NorthernShots Tours Shop, Roald Amundsens plass 1A, 9008 Tromsø, Norway.

Important information:

• If the group size is smaller than 17 people, the tour may be operated with a vehicle without a toilet on board.

• Although the vehicle is normally heated, it may gradually cool down on especially cold nights. Please dress in warm layers to stay comfortable both inside and outside the bus.

• Please provide the age and weight of children in advance, so we can try to provide the correct child seat. The driver may refuse boarding if this information is only provided on the day of departure.

• High season periods are 19 December–9 January and 7–27 February. Please note that tours are often fully booked during these periods.

• If we do not see the Northern Lights, you may receive a 50% discount voucher for a new tour. The voucher is subject to seat availability, cannot be refunded, and can only be used by the person who made the original booking. If we are closed the following day, the voucher can only be used on the next day we are open, subject to availability.

• The 50% discount cannot be guaranteed after the last tour of the season, as we are closed the following day.

• The tour runs regardless of weather conditions, as the Northern Lights may still be visible on cloudy, rainy or snowy nights. However, the tour may be cancelled due to extreme weather or unsafe driving conditions. If this happens, you will be offered the option to change your tour to another day or receive a full refund.

• You cannot claim a refund if you do not show up at the time of departure. Any discount offered will also expire immediately.

• We may team up with one of our partners offering a similar tour in order to guarantee departure. If this happens, we will inform you of any new pick-up location.

• It can be slippery in the places where we wait for the Northern Lights.

• The tour may stay in one location all night or travel to several spots. The priority is always to find the best possible view of the lights.
