Darefjellkollen, right by the bike rental is the highest point on the island, from here you get a fantasic view over 'Skærgården' (the archipelagos). Behind the top of the mountain you wil find the remains of an old dam used for producing and exporting ice.

Eidkilkanalen (the EIdkil canal) is a waterway that splits the island in two. You can cross the canal by bridge.

Øvre Saltbotangen is where the famous Norwegian artist Theodor Kittilsen lived from 1889 -91, and Plasshytta where he was inspired to create the 'Pesta' character shown is many of his drawings. (Pesta is a personification of the Black Death, and the scary woman living at 'Plasshytta' at the time is who the character was based on).

Korset, at the far end of Skåtøy is an idyllic old fishing village
