Aulestad is the farm and home of Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson. The world-famous poet found his paradise in scenic Gausdal, a short drive from Lillehammer city center.

We adults may feel respect and humility when we stroll up the birch alley and meet the famous home. The children are probably most preoccupied with the amusement park mirrors in the magnificent barn and the search for secrets in the historic garden.

The garden itself is a gem and a pleasure to experience. The farm, the yard, the garden and the poet's home provide a beautiful setting for an eventful day for the family. And remember; Bjørnson's pancakes with blueberry jam should be tested and enjoyed in the historic surroundings.
