Femund Engerdal is a unique canoe paradise that combines large and small waterways with a spectacular mountain nature. Here can visitors explore Isteren’s sandy beaches or go on adventure in Jyltingsmarka, an area known for its family-friendly paddling opportunities. With over 8,000 square kilometers of Femundsmarka national park, one can enjoy untouched wilderness for several days without meeting others. The 60 kilometer long lake Femund and its associated national park are among Southern Norway’s last untouched wilderness areas, where thousands of small lakes, rivers, mountain peaks and mysterious forests await. Several local businesses offer canoe and kayak rental, including Femund Canoe Camp and Gløtberget Gård, which both have over 50 years of experience and offer tailored wilderness experiences. Regardless if you are an experienced paddler or beginner, Femund Engerdal is the perfect place to experience the nature from the water. Guided paddling tours are also available for those who wish to learn more about the area.
