Engevik Gaard is a historic farmstead from the 18th century, welcoming groups of 10–80 guests for dining and guided tours.
Here, you will be served traditional Norwegian dishes in authentic and historic surroundings. We host only one group at a time, ensuring that you have the entire farmstead exclusively to yourselves.
The historic estate at Engevik is beautifully situated by the fjord, approximately halfway in to Sævareid in Bjørnafjorden. This former officer’s residence from the early 18th century offers a unique insight into the role and status of civil servants in local society towards the end of the absolute monarchy in the Kingdom of Denmark-Norway.
The property was acquired as a commanding officer’s residence in 1723 by Lieutenant Colonel Christian Wilhelm Segelcke, who settled here while leading the Northern Søndhordland Company.
Today, the estate is run by the ninth generation, Loren Ditmarsen-Radecka, together with her husband Maciej Radecki. Upon arrival, guests are warmly welcomed by Loren, who shares the estate’s 300-year history through an engaging guided tour of the courtyard and buildings.
