Fossli Hotel is a charming seasonal hotel open from May 18 to September 15.

The hotel enjoys a truly unique location high above the mighty Vøringsfossen waterfall, offering spectacular views of the dramatic Måbø Valley. Since its establishment in 1891, Fossli has been a popular destination for both nature lovers and cultural enthusiasts. When the hotel first opened, there was no road connection from Eidfjord, and guests had to arrive on foot or by horse and carriage.

For more than a century, the hotel has welcomed visitors from around the world who come to experience the waterfall, the mountains, and the breathtaking scenery. The world-renowned composer Edvard Grieg was among its regular guests. During his stays at Fossli, he worked on several of his compositions and completed the harmonization of Opus 66 in his favourite room.

The hotel features 21 rooms, all with private bathrooms, and offers a cosy and authentic stay in historic surroundings. Guests can also enjoy the hotel's fully licensed restaurant, serving delicious meals accompanied by magnificent views of the surrounding landscape.

Today, Fossli Hotel combines historic charm with close proximity to some of Norway’s most famous natural attractions, making it the perfect base for exploring Vøringsfossen, Hardangervidda and the rest of the Hardanger region.
