Foxdal Cabin

Beautifully located at the entrance to the Fox valley, you find the Foxdal cabin. Built in the original trapper's style with a wood heated oven it takes you back to former times in Svalbard. This must be the coziest and most original cabin on the island!

It is equipped with bunkbeds for 5 guests, a small kitchen and an outdoors toilet. Part of the cabin experience is to chop wood for the oven and to melt snow for drinking water, just like in the good old days. The cabin is located in a quiet area, where snow scooters seldom are spotted. The fox valley itself is scooter free and a unique experience, if you wish to find undisturbed wildlife such as reindeer and ptarmigan. The view from the Fox valley cabin is stunning – and you can overlook most of the Advent valley, the Advent fjord and the Isfjord.

We park our dog teams next to the cabin and feed the dogs before we prepare our own dinner. We provide you with catering food from a local company and enjoy the evening together, accompanied by a glass of wine in the cozy cabin atmosphere. On evenings without clouds, we can take a step just outside the cabin and may be lucky enough to enjoy a fantastic Northern Lights scenery.
