Guided mountain hike in Bergen including lunch

On this tour, you join an experienced local guide who leads you into the landscape that frames the city. Along the way, you'll enjoy the calm of forest paths, rocky hills, and viewpoints that open toward the fjords and the iconic mountains surrounding Bergen. You'll also get insight into local history, nature, and outdoor culture, and understand why hiking is such an essential part of life in Norway.

The guide adapts both the pace and the route to the group, ensuring that everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience - whether you are used to hiking or trying it for the first time. The tour can follow gentle forest trails or slightly more challenging terrain for those who want a bit more. The goal is to offer a genuine, personal, and flexible nature experience for all levels. If you have special requests, we also offer private tours with custom routes.

A highlight of the day is the lunch break in the outdoors. After about an hour of hiking, we stop at a scenic spot where you are served a fresh sandwich from a local bakery, along with freshly ground coffee brewed on-site - a detail many guests truly appreciate. We also bring a local sweet treat to give you a little extra energy for the return.

The tour begins at the Fish Market, right outside the entrance to the Tourist Information. There you meet your guide before taking the bus together to the trailhead just outside the city center. From here, the landscape gradually opens up, and the views follow you much of the way - whether toward the fjords, the city, or the peaceful forested hills surrounding Bergen. Many guests highlight the combination of urban proximity and genuine mountain nature as something truly special. And if the weather behaves like it often does in Bergen, the warm shower afterwards might feel like an unexpected bonus.

Note: Private groups may also request pickup by car directly from where they are staying.

When it comes to equipment, it's simple: good shoes, weather‑appropriate clothing, and a small backpack are all you need. We hike in most weather conditions, and the route can be adjusted when necessary. For many, the combination of light rain, shifting light, and sweeping views becomes a memorable part of the experience - a real taste of Western Norway.

This is the tour for anyone who wants a personal, authentic, and close‑to‑nature experience of Bergen's mountains, culture, and landscapes - with good food, pleasant company, and views you'll remember for a long time.
