Hiking on "Top of Bergen"

This is a medium 2-3-hour hike away from the crowds with great views of Bergen and the surrounding area.

We hike literally on top of Bergen and go off the beaten track through woods, past lakes, and on paths where we can hear the silence.

Duration: 2,5-3,5 hours.
Level: Medium.
Distance: 6-10 km.
Elevation: 300-600 

The hike requires some experience of hiking and has a medium difficulty level. Most of the hike is in uneven terrain that may be wet, so proper hiking shoes are required.

You meet the guide in the centre of Bergen and make your way to the top of Mt Fløyen where the real hike starts. Above Mt Fløyen our guide will take you through untouched terrain, reaching some higher summits with amazing views of Bergen and the ocean surrounding it. Our guide is local and will be able to tell you about Norwegian culture, habits and history.

After hiking for about 3 hours we will return to the town centre of Bergen and you can spend the rest of the day exploring the city of Bergen.

This hike is offered throughout the year and can be done in all seasons. Do not forget that the weather changes quickly, and it is important to dress according to the changing weather. The hike is at an elevation of 400 m.a.s.l, where it is normally a little colder than in the city of Bergen.

Recommended equipment:
Sturdy shoes, windproof jacket and trousers, sunglasses, food and drink. We also recommend bringing a light hat and gloves.
