The water in lake Mjøsa outside Gjøvik freezes over approximately every three years. Just a few hundred metres north of the town, where the depth of the lake ranges from just over 100 to 300 metres, the water freezes in January every year. You can enjoy some fantastic fishing just a short walk from the hotel, by fishing from land in depths of 1-25 metres. There is an area outside Bråstad, north of Gjøvik, which is excellent for ice fishing. Gjøvik is also a good destination in the winter for a great fishing experience.
