IMA Tursenter

The IMA tursenter is located at the start of the Steindalen valley. We have cabins for rent. Each of the two-bedroom cabins sleep 4-6 guests. The cabins offer an ideal base for nature-based experiences. The path up to the Steindalen glacier starts right on your doorstep.

The IMA tursenter is located at the start of the Steindalen valley. We have cabins for rent. Each of the two-bedroom cabins sleep 4-6 guests. The cabins offer an ideal base for nature-based experiences. The path up to the Steindalen glacier starts right on your doorstep. This is a popular hike, as you do not need any special equipment to walk all the way up to the glacier.

IMA Tursenter has 3 cabins, 1 cabin lavvu and 2 big wooden lavvus. These lavvos have space for 130 people and are used as a wilderness cafe (summer), bar and conference room. An open fire creates a good atmosphere inside.

The communal building has a sauna, changing rooms and a guest laundry with a washing machine and tumble dryer which you can rent.

Each 35 sqm cabin has two bedrooms with one family bunk bed each (1x 120 cm mattress, 1x 70 cm mattress), linen, bathroom, kitchen with appliances, cups and cutlery and a sitting area with a TV.

Guests may also rent an outdoor hot tub for relaxation.

Prices for 2016 for the sauna and outdoor hot tub:
- Hot tub: NOK 1,500 NOK for up to 90 min use
- Sauna: NOK 750 NOK for up to 90 min use
- Both Hot tub and sauna: NOK 2,000 for up to 90 min use

IMA Tursenter is located 16 km north of Oteren, along the RV 868. Just after the bridge, you turn left, away from the fjord, and follow the gravel path up past the car park. The driving distance from Tromsø is 105 km, while from Lyngseidet is 25 km.
