"Easy family trip to lake Langtjern.

Explores the local area around Ruten Fjellstue and Dalseter Høyfjellshotell, and leads past the Hulderbu cabin. From Ruten Fjellstue or Dalseter Høyfjellshotell, head north on the floodlit trail and follow this all the way to the end. Cross the main route and continue along the tractor track for approx. 1 km. Follow the summer trail as it turns slightly left, and use the walkway to cross the mash. Stay on the trail until you reach a tractor track. Turn left and follow the track to Langtjern. This is a great spot for some fishing (remember fishing permit) and/or a break. Spectacular views of the Heidalsmuen mountain. Going back, follow the tractor track and go straight ahead at the junction. Hulderbu, one of Espedalen’s ski lounges, is also ideal for a break. The cabin is open all year round and provides shelter when it is cold and wet. This is a lovely spot with excellent views of the Jotunheimen and Heidalsmuen mountains. From Hulderbu, either take the first right to head back to Ruten Fjellstue or continue straight ahead to go via Øvre Dalseter and across to Peer Gyntvegen. Turn right to reach Dalseter Høyfjellshotell and, alternatively, the floodlit trail onwards to Ruten Fjellstue. Local map: Espedalen Nord.
