Loen Skylift
Loen Skylift is a spectacular attraction and adventure arena, at the inner part of the Nordfjord, in the heart of Fjord Norway. A Cable Car will lift you from the fjord to 1011 m. Enjoy the views of the fjord landscape - from the restaurant table, or while exploring in the mountains.

The Loen Skylift is one of the steepest cable cars in the world, taking you from the fjord at Loen to Hoven Mountain (1011 metres above sea level) in five minutes. At the top is the 350-seat Hoven Restaurant & Bar. The facility is part of a year-round nature-based adventure arena for active explorers and families with children.
The ascent starts from the Fjord Building with the cable car to Mt. Hoven (1011 masl/3316 ftl). After a few minutes in the air, you arrive at Hoven Restaurant, where you can enjoy a 210-degree panoramic view of Mt. Skåla and Lake Lovatnet to the east, Jostedalsbreen National Park and Olden to the south and the Nordfjord as it bends towards Stryn to the west. From Hoven you can experience the high mountains on your own or with a guide. The possibilities are endless. And when you are done exploring, the spectacular Hoven Restaurant will tempt you with mountain food and drinks.
Summer adventures In the summer months you can explore well-marked trails that will give you the confidence and energy to experience the high mountains. You can also try your hand at ziplining and maybe even climb to the top on the Via Ferrata Loen.
The winterly fjords from above Take the easy way to the spectacular views of the winterly fjord landscape and real snow experiences. Loen Skylift is running year-round, and in December the winter usually arrive at 1011 m/3316 ft. Explore it first-hand outside walking on snowshoes, sledding, in one of the snowcaves or inside in the cliff-hanging restaurant - in front of the fireplace. Stay comfortably at the prominent Hotel Alexandra, at the foot of the mountain.
Food experiences on the edge Gourmet food is made 1011 meters above the fjord, innermost by the Jostedalsbreen Glacier. In a restaurant drawn from a James Bond movie - right on the edge of the cliff towards the fjord – on the top of Loen Skylift. Here you’ll find mountain hikers, climbers and well-rested party people – who all wants a taste of airy gourmet. The ingredients are mostly local, and so are the beverages: apple juice from the village at the foot of the mountain, 5000-year-old water from the mighty Jostedalsbreen and Odin's own beer. Events are held at Mt. Hoven throughout the year, i.e. concerts and special dinners.
