Muustrøparken Sculpture Park

Exciting sculpture park in scenic Straumen, adorned wit sculptures by Nils Aas - one of Norway's foremost sculptors.

The Muustrøparken is situated just a stoen throw from Nils Aas Kunstverksted, a gallery and workshop in honour of Nils Aas, who was born and raised here in Stramen town centre.  There park feature 10 of Nils Aas's great sculptures exhibitied among exciting plants and beautiful flowers. Explore man created art and nature's work of art in perfect harmony.

The river runs through the park, and the magnificent Muusbrua bridge from 1816 is a work of art. Enjoy walking along the river, admire the sculptures, gaze out accross the Trondheimfjord. Make a stop by the sculpture "Flyndre" (Flounder) and listen to it sing.  Straumen town centre feature cosy niche shops in an idyllic environment.

The park is intended to be a "Meeting between ancient and modern." At one end of the park you can see this very clearly, with a mill with both paddle wheels and micro power plant. At the other end of the park, the sculpture Flounder, you see beyond the Trondheim Fjord.
There is also an amphitheater with a stage, skotthyllbane, children's play area, a diverse plant life and fish in the river in the park.

The park is well facilitated with gravel paths and large parts are accessible by wheelchair.
