Narvik Ski Resort

Narvik Ski Resort is located in the mountains above Narvik, 220 km north of the Arctic Circle, with a view of the Ofotfjord and the city below. Here, guests get an alpine experience where nature is close by: steep mountainsides, deep valleys, fjord landscapes and Arctic light that changes the mood throughout the season.

The resort is located in the middle of the coastal city of Narvik and has 16 slopes, 6 lifts and terrain that provides space for different skiing experiences. Here you will find family-friendly slopes, a terrain park, championship trails and off-piste areas, with one of Scandinavia's largest drop-off heights for both lift-based and off-piste skiing. At the same time, the distance between ski resorts and city life is short. Hotels, cafes, cultural venues and the city center are close to the mountains, so that skiing can be combined with dining experiences, events and urban life by the fjord.

The season in Narvikfjellet offers clear Arctic contrasts. During the polar night, floodlights in the ground and the lights from the city give a special winter atmosphere, with the possibility of northern lights when the conditions are right. When the sun returns, the days get longer and the evenings brighter. Towards the end of the season, skiing can be accompanied by the midnight sun and long, bright evenings.

Leading up to the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 2029, Narvikfjellet is undergoing extensive development. The development includes new lifts, upgraded competition trails, a new gondola line, improved snow production, lighting systems and a new family-friendly Panorama trail. The upgrades will contribute to a more modern ski resort, with better flow, more varied terrain and a stronger framework for both local skiers, visitors and international competitions. The development will provide a long-term legacy for local users, families and young athletes, with shorter queues, more stable snow conditions and better training opportunities.

Narvik Ski Resort is an important part of the winter town of Narvik. Here, the local skiing community, Arctic nature and a growing international alpine effort meet on the same mountainside. When the winter season 2026/2027 arrives, the planned plant parts related to the development are expected to be ready, as part of the road to the championship in 2029.

Narvik is part of Arctic Ski Resorts, along with Riksgränsen and Björkliden in Sweden. With the Arctic Ski Pass, guests can experience three different Arctic ski destinations in one trip: Björkliden's calm and panoramic mountain environment, Riksgränsen's long season and freeride traditions, and Narvik's combination of fjord, city and alpine skiing until the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 2029.
