Nordnorsk Kunstmuseum is an art museum that makes space for ideas.
Through art, we give new perspectives on the north, its landscapes and the lives of its people.
We show art from the last 200 years in a variety of media, from 19th century romantic landscape paintings, the graphic world and photography to the contemporary, where the craft of knitting makes a surprising appearance. We also focus on Northern and Sami contemporary art and crafts.
The museum regularly presents new, changing exhibitions of both Norwegian and foreign art, in addition to the main group exhibition.
In the summer of 2022, we offer regular guided tours every day at 14:00, as well as activities in the MAKERspace every day between 12:00 - 16:00. In MAKERspace, both young and old can enjoy self-expression through drawing, painting, weaving and much more.
The museum's café is only open on weekends and Thursdays, but we offer coffee, tea and snacks every day. We also have a shop with gifts, books, jewellery and unique designs from the north.
The entire museum is adapted for the disabled. Children are most welcome.
