Opsahl Gjestegaard

Opsahl Gjestegaard, built in 1946, is the only remaining guesthouse in Bodø. With its origin classic interior, staying here is an experience in itself. You will feel the atmosphere as it could have been in your grandmother's house. You will also see objects that were commonplace in the way of living in the past. One of our dear guests put it nicely: "It's like coming home to an old aunt, except you don't have to sit down and talk to her all evening."

If you have checked in for a longer stay, you can use our shared kitchen and laundry room in the basement. All rooms have a toilet and shower, TV, and free Wi-Fi. The rooms are spread over our three floors, but unfortunately, we do not have an elevator.

The house has five terraces where you can enjoy your afternoon coffee or morning sun while overlooking Bodø city center. From the roof terrace, you can see the northern lights dancing on the sky on clear winter days.

Art Exhibition
Opsahl Gjestegaard has the fantastic sales exhibition "The Light of the Sun, the Power of the Moon" by artist Jonny Andvik from Telemark. The entire guesthouse is decorated with 39 paintings, prints, and watercolors by the renowned Norwegian artist.

Meeting and Banquet Facilities
Opsahl Gjestegaard creates a great homely and solemn setting for weddings, confirmations, baptisms, anniversaries, or other parties. We can accommodate up to 35-40 people spread across our three living rooms. In the summer, we have outdoor areas and a lush backyard garden where you can enjoy the fresh city air in a quiet neighborhood. Each event is tailored in collaboration with the guests, and we also plan the menu together. We can make homemade food or cater from a company. Café, Restaurant, and Events
Opsahl Gjestegaard is a beautiful and inviting gathering place where people can meet and be together. We have a charming café that serves, among other things, the traditional dish from Salten, “møsbrømlefsa”. Ideal for taking a break and enjoying the surroundings on Wednesdays and every other Saturday. See our calendar on the website or our Facebook page for dates and times. The guesthouse is also a place for cultural experiences. Throughout the year, various events such as concerts, art exhibitions, and dinners are organized, giving visitors the opportunity to experience local culture and meet new people. Whether you just want to relax or be social, Opsahl Gjestegaard is the perfect place to be, whether you come alone or with others.
