Hurtigruten - "El viaje marino más hermoso del mundo"
Lysefjord, with its enormous variety of landscapes, is an extreme natural experience even by global standards. It is with considerable humility that we escort guests into this stunning, never-ending fjord with so much history hanging on its vertical walls.
Lysefjord offers the most fantastic cliff formations you can imagine. The Pulpit Rock, a plateau 600 m above the fjord, is the most famous, but also Kjerag, with its precipitous 1000 metre rock cliffs, is a mighty rival.
Would you like to climb the world's longest wooden staircase? At the Flørli hydro-electric plant there are 4444 steps waiting for you. A fantastic climb in beautiful surroundings. Then there is the wonderful beach at Dørvika, ideal for stepping ashore and enjoying a ship's biscuit or two.
Perhaps our cook will have gone ashore before us, boiling up the cooking pots with something delicious?
A trip to Fantahålå is another must – you will be awe-struck by the power and scale of this "Knave's Cave" – which dwarfs the travellers believed to have sought shelter there.
We navigate the Lysefjord in our fast, open RIBs, with stops and activities to suit your preference.
