Sheep barn Apartment at Hammer Farm

An Exceptional Experience!

Step into this one-of-a-kind barn apartment, where you can immerse yourself in the world of sheep year-round. Enjoy sweeping views inside the barn, where the sheep reside, and out towards Hammevatnet (Hamme Lake). This unique barn apartment is situated at Hammer Farm in Åsen, just under an hour's drive north of Trondheim.

The apartment comprises a spacious room with a sofa bed and dining area in one section, a well-equipped kitchen, and a family bunk bed in another corner, accompanied by a compact bathroom featuring a toilet and shower. Please note that there isn't a dishwasher in the apartment, so all dishes are to be washed by hand. Duvets and pillows are thoughtfully provided for our guests. Complimentary wireless internet is available in the apartment, along with a television screen that can be connected to a mobile device or tablet.

Activities in and around the farm:

Hamme Lake is conveniently nearby, offering excellent opportunities for fishing, boating, swimming, and lakeside picnics. Hammer Farm shares its boundaries with the Hamme Lake Nature Reserve, a protected area characterized by lush vegetation, abundant birdlife, and various wildlife seamlessly integrated into the surrounding region. Access to Hamme Lake is restricted from March 20th to June 20th and from September 15th to November 15th due to nesting season. However, our private grill area and small boathouse are available year-round. During the remaining months, you can borrow a rowboat, tandem kayak, and fishing equipment.

Wood-Fired Hot Tub:

On our premises, you'll discover a wood-fired hot tub that can be reserved for an additional fee. Imagine the delight of a soothing soak on a chilly winter evening or watching the sunset on a summer night. If you'd like to book the heated hot tub, please contact us when making your reservation.

Meet the Sheep:

While most of our animals graze in the mountains during the summer, there will always be some friendly faces in the barn and around the farm. Guests are welcome to enter the barn and interact with the sheep. We even have animal feed that children can hand-feed to the sheep.

Local Area Activities:

Åsen offers a plethora of enchanting hiking opportunities, many of which are within walking distance from the farm. For bird enthusiasts, we have a nearby birdwatching tower to explore. If you have access to a car, Åsfjellet is surrounded by lakes and hiking areas suitable for both cyclists and hikers.

We extend a warm welcome for you to join us!
