All three houses are architect-designed and constructed with the aim of optimizing the fantastic sun and light conditions on the site.

Here you will live in calm luxury with good comfort, high quality and Nordic interior, and at the same time live close to nature, whether it's the midnight sun or the northern lights. Every season has its charm!

The perfect gathering place

Skagenhaugen is built and optimized for families, groups of friends and companies who want to spend time together in scenic surroundings. There are many cozy, social places both inside and outside.

Home alone

At Skagenhaugen, you have the entire place to yourself, which is a small luxury in itself! The main house, the annex and the outdoor area are used by the same guests. The seaside cabin (2 people) can be rented both independently and together with the rest.

Comfy beds for 14 people

Skagenhaugen has beds for up to 14 people (5 double beds, 2 single beds, 1 double sofa bed). The beds are distributed among 3 houses; the main house (8), the annex (4) and the small seaside cabin (2). We have high priority on good sleeping comfort, so here you sleep in Jenssen beds with high quality bedding.

Dining room/conference room for 30 people

In 2023, Skagenhaugen also got its own dining room with space for 30 people. It is perfectly suited for occasions such as anniversaries, family reunions, weddings, gatherings, courses, work meetings, etc. It is an extraordinarily warm and cozy room with its own kitchen, serving bench, dark wooden ceeling, oak parquet and a lovely view of the sea and Gaukværøya. Simple and elegant white dinnerware, wine glasses, linen tablecloths and linen napkins are included. The room is also connected to an outdoor kitchen with patio doors that can be folded to the side on warm summer evenings, so that it becomes a large and delightful open area. With a large TV and video conference equipment, the room is also very suitable for conferences and business meetings. If required, the table/chair arrangements can be changed. The dining room/conference room can be rented with or without accommodation.

The seaside cabin

This small, modern cabin (built in 2022) is a little gem right by the sea. Here, the sea practically enters the living room! It can be used in connection with the entire resort or rented independently. It can be used as a bedroom, an additional living room, or perhaps as a small hideaway if one wishes to retreat a bit. A delightful place to simply sit and observe the sea, the birdlife (eagles if you're lucky!) and breathe in the sea air. The cabin is fully furnished with solid oak, and has a small bathroom with shower and a compact kitchenette. It provides a cozy, warm and fascinating atmosphere on rough stormy days, and is open and spacious with direct access to a terrace on lovely summer days, when the sun never sets.

The outdoor area

Skagenhaugen is located on a small hill with fantastic lightning and scenic conditions. The outdoor area is spacious and private. Beyond the garden, there is a small path leading up to a peak/hill called Skagenhaugen. Here, it is wild and beautiful with a 360-degree view, towards the Lofoten mountains, Møysalen and the open sea. A perfect spot to bring your morning coffee and enjoy the view. Or perhaps grab a hammock from the mainhouse, find two trees and enjoy some time alone in spectacular surroundings.

Wood-fired hot tub

In the classic wood-fired outdoor hot tub, it's cozy to bathe all year round, whether it's winter and dark, stormy, snowy, clear starry sky, or northern lights - or summer with the midnight sun and daylight throughout the night. If you are really tough, you can take a short dip in the (freezing cold) sea and then run back up to the tub!

The campfire

The cozy, stone-built campfire is located on the hill beneath the garden, making it sheltered from the wind. Here, you can choose to rest your eyes on the flames or the beautiful view of the sea and mountains. A nice place to gather, to chat, to enjoy the midnight sun or observe northern lights! We provide firewood and pillows.

Social dining

Gathering around a good meal is unifying, social, and brings a lot of joy. At Skagenhaugen, there are very good facilities for cooking great food together, featuring an outdoor kitchen with an integrated gas grill, a charcoal grill, fire pan and wood-fired pizza oven, as well as a well-equipped main kitchen with, among other things, kitchen machine. Sometimes, it can be nice to also order catering and have the food ready delivered to your door - that's also a possibility! Additionally, If desired, it's possible to hire a chef for special occasions. Skagenhaugen has 3 kitchens, and 1 outdoor kitchen.
