The Coastal Path along the Oslo Fjord

The coastal path along the inner Oslofjord takes you through beautiful nature, cozy towns full of charm and history and past many cultural monuments. The coastal path - From Son in Follo to Verket in Asker

The coastal path along the inner Oslofjord takes you through beautiful nature, cozy small towns full of history and past many cultural monuments.

The coastal paths are popular signed paths that provide access for everyone and make it possible to walk longer distances on foot along the sea. Along the Oslo Fjord there are over 600 km of coastal path. Walk through beautiful small towns and residential areas, to beaches and over wood covered hills to great view points, while other parts are simple trails in unspoilt coastal nature. The coastal path is well marked with light blue poles and signs along the hiking trails.

Here you should enjoy yourself, relax on a bench and take in the view, enjoy a swim on the beaches and admire the attractions on your walk along the coastal path.

On the east side, you can walk from one cultural highlight to the next, such as from the park with the 37 Gallion figures in Hvitsten, past Munch's studio to the cultural destination Ramme.

On the west side of the fjord, the coastal path takes you past the 4 sculpture parks from Fornebu to Sjøholmen via Henie Onstad Art Centre. And in Slemmestad we have the unique Geology with information boards that show the Oslo belt's geology with visible fossils from over 400 million years back in time.

The towns have an art gallery, several nice cafes with fresh pastries and popular restaurants on the pier for a good meal. The occasional farm shop with locally produced food can also be found on your way.

In many places you can walk freely in the forest along the coastal path if you want a detour. It is okay with parking spaces at the natural starting points, and there is public transportation between the start and end point of many routes.
