Trehyttene i Gjerstad are three tree top cabins located in the forest at Gjerstad (about 45 minute drive from Risør).
At Trehyttene in Gjerstad, you can choose between several very different tree cabins: Kråkeslottet, Gjøkeredet, Flåklypa, Vannspeilet and Vanntårnet. Each has its own personality and unique architecture. All you have to do is find your favourite!
No expense has been spared in creating a truly unique experience, with a strong focus on quality in the architecture, interior and facilities. The cabins are located well apart from each other, allowing you to enjoy plenty of privacy. The area is also home to a rich variety of wildlife and birdlife, and you may be lucky enough to spot deer, moose, beavers, eagles and smaller birds. This is a holiday you will never forget.
Kråkeslottet:
This tree cabin is a “hybrid”, with the cabin itself built on the ground while the terrace seems to float among the trees. The cabin sleeps up to eight people and has a fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, as well as a shower and toilet. The cabin has three floors: a bathroom on the ground floor, bedrooms on the second floor, and a kitchen and living room on the third floor. On the top floor, you can also light the wood-burning stove.
Outside, there is a Tarzan trail that is fun for both children and adults. You will also find a small workshop in the style of Emil of Lönneberga, as well as a swimming spot and the opportunity to go out in a rowing boat.
Vannspeilet:
Vannspeilet floats on Lundvann lake in Gjerstad, completely secluded and surrounded by nature. A 20-metre footbridge leads out to the cabin. This is a spectacular luxury cabin designed to give guests an extraordinary experience in nature. With large windows, glass floors and spacious terraces, nature almost becomes part of the cabin itself.
From the roof, you can dive straight into the lake, or relax in the 38°C hot tub on the rooftop terrace.
Vannspeilet is only available to adults and children who are confident swimmers.
Vanntårnet:
Like Vannspeilet, Vanntårnet is a unique luxury cabin floating on Lundvann lake. Inspired by Vannspeilet, Vanntårnet has its own distinctive architecture and a different layout.
Located on the water, 20 metres from the shore, Vanntårnet offers an incredible sense of peace and closeness to nature. Enjoy the views from the rooftop terrace, take a dip in the hot tub, relax with a good book by the fireplace or share a meal with friends and family.
Vanntårnet is located approximately 200 metres from Vannspeilet.
Gjøkeredet:
This tree cabin hangs seven metres above the ground, nestled between four sturdy pine trees. A staircase leads safely from the ground up to the terrace and entrance. Large windows give you the feeling of being right in the middle of nature.
Many guests find the bedroom, which hangs beneath the cabin, particularly exciting. Gjøkeredet can accommodate six to eight people. The cabin has a refrigerator and gas cooker, while solar panels provide electricity. There is hot and cold running water, as well as an outdoor toilet at ground level.
Gjøkeredet is located 150 metres from Flåklypa, and the two cabins share a Tarzan trail in the forest above them. A river runs below the cabin, with a beautiful natural swimming pool where you can take a dip in summer.
Deer are fed year-round near Gjøkeredet and Flåklypa, so you may be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of them. There are also plenty of beavers in the lakes and waterways in the area.
Flåklypa:
At the very top, with spectacular panoramic views, you will find Flåklypa. This tree cabin offers something truly special, with exciting design features and a spacious rooftop terrace.
A ramp leads up to the cabin, making it easier to access for people with reduced mobility and small children. The area is rich in birdlife, and there is a chance of spotting deer below the cabin.
You will also find fire pits both on the rooftop terrace and on the ground. Flåklypa sleeps eight people and is surprisingly spacious. For larger groups, it is possible to rent both Flåklypa and Gjøkeredet and gather around the long dining table at Flåklypa for shared meals. The terrace also offers plenty of space for groups.
