Whale and nature safari

Join us out at sea for an unforgetable adventure, as we search for wildlife & try to catch the kingcrab, whilst we enjoy spectacular nature and the one and only north cape by sea

Visit us in the tiny, colourful, northern most fishing village in the world, at Skarsvag tourist centre. Arriving in our town, you will see the lively harbour where the fishermen are at work.

Beforehand, we kit you up safely to head out at sea with our safe, unsinkable rib boat. The journey takes us through the wonderful fjords that lead to the North cape and to its original entrance; Hornvika. On the way we will stop at very unique highlights. We will see amazing nature, shaped for centuries by water & wind, pass eagle-nesting areas, island with seal families and active arctic bird nesting.

Throughout this journey, we are looking for the flags that mark our king crab-catching points, where we pull up our catch. As you witness this animal in action and learn all about them, we might see other fishermen at work on the ocean. If we are lucky, we might spot several species of whales and dolphins around the majestic North Cape also. Other animals we could be spotting are seals, eagles, puffins, and many more arctic birds.

If you are interested in trying some fresh king crab in our restaurant afterwards, you can chose to add the lunch- or dinner portion of this fresh, local delicacy that became so famous worldwide.

Upon return, you get to meet our king crab in our aquarium. You get to take a picture with them and learn all about these amazing animals. Have a look at our local shop and world famous gallery to get to know our village.

This option comes with transport; we take you on a roadtrip over the mountain on which we have several stops at scenic highlights of the island, a king crab show, and a local, season based 3-course meal. One of our stops on the island is the one & only famous North Cape, where we guide you around so you don't miss a single corner of the cape. This version of the trip takes 6 hours.
