This is an extraordinary adventure, not to be missed! Join us at a Wild Moose Safari, aiming to observe the largest land animal in Europe, the mighty Moose!

Meet the king of the forest in the Arctic; the Wild Moose! The Bardufoss region has a large population of Europe's largest land animals. Departure by the Arctic Route bus from Scandic Ishavshotel at 09.00, back in the city at 18.00. The bus is run by Bussring and has Wi-Fi, toilet and coffee/tea available.
The Bardufoss region has an inland climate with calm and clear weather most days, which provides optimal conditions for northern lights and snow. The area has a very large moose population, which in winter like to walk in small herds in the deep pine forests. On arrival at Basecamp NORD, you will meet the guide and receive information about the moose; these large, fascinating animals that live in the beautiful Målselvdalen. Afterwards, we go out by car or bus to visit the places where moose are often seen. We approach carefully so as not to disturb the animals, who are vulnerable in winter when there is deep snow and cold. Along the way, you will gain knowledge about the moose and the arctic wilderness. We sometimes get off the bus, but not far. You will also be able to see other animals during the trip, such as foxes, hares, eagles and others. Please note that you are never guaranteed to see natural phenomena, it is a part of the excitement.
During your stay, you will be served a homemade soup at Basecamp NORD, where you will also find a small souvenir shop, cafe and toilets.
