In 2017, Twinings Best Breakfast named Norway's best breakfast for 13 years in a row. Hafjell Hotel was the county winner in Oppland as the hotel with the best hotel breakfast. It was the first time a hotel from the Lillehammer region won this competition.

In 2018, Hafjell Hotell repeated the feat and was named the winner as the hotel in Oppland with the best breakfast. In 2019, Scandic Valdres Fagernes was the county winner, while Hafjell Hotell and Nythun Høyfjellshotel were highlighted for their excellent breakfast.
The criteria for winning are, among other things, the quality of the products, selection, presentation, information to the guests, service, atmosphere, cleanliness and tidiness. The jury consists of chefs and sommeliers from the Haugen Group, in addition to an independent jury. They have rated over 400 hotels in Norway.
