The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, which has its origins in Yasutaka Tsutsui's science fiction novel from 1967, is a story that has been adapted for the screen numerous times. But the best of them all is without doubt Mamoru Hosoda's animated version – perhaps the best time travel film since Back to the Future!
