Dalane bluesfestival
A festival with a wide range of genres Although the name promises blues, over the years the festival has deliberately sought diversity in its programme – precisely to appeal to a wider audience. Traditional blues genres are purposefully combined with rock, soul, Americana and newer expressions that tend to attract a wide range of both loyal and new festival-goers. The festival is known for its intimate feel, with stages such as: Sykkelverkstedet – an atmospheric, local concert venue used year after year Grand Scene – cosy concerts in the basement of the Grand Hotel Egersund Tools-Scene (main stage) – a robust, indoor stage with a powerful sound and lighting rig for the festival's biggest artists Rockescenen – a fresh addition since 2016, with harder and alternative elements that give young people a cultural space The stages are positioned so that the audience can easily move between them, contributing to a lively and accessible festival experience in the centre of Egersund. An inclusive and authentic expression The festival delivers a warm atmosphere where both dedicated blues lovers and curious participants will find something to enjoy. The festival management adheres to the ideals of quality, proximity and community – and the festival has become a welcome cultural beacon in the region. - Stolmen24.07.2026 - 26.07.2026

30 Years of Music, People, and Magic We call it a pearl jubilee when we celebrate three decades of dance, laughter, dedicated volunteers, applause, and musical moments that have become part of the city and of us. From the very first note at what was then called the Arendal Jazz and Blues Festival to today’s Canal Street as we know it—with concerts at Arendal Cemetery, Strømsbo Farm, Teaterplassen, Poppes Plass, Sam Eydes Plass, the Cultural Center, and Barnestreet at Kanalplassen—Canal Street has been a meeting place for everything we love about summer in Southern Norway. C(S)U in week 30! For the music. For the city. For each other. About 40-50 different artists and bands visit the festival. Even though jazz traditionally has been well represented, most genres are presented here. 3-course dinner // Fjærå Sjøhus // Håsong 2026
The village of Hosanger, as a church site and municipal centre, and especially the area around Mjøsvågen, has over the years had many licensed premises and dining venues. Fjærå Sjøhus is located in premises that have previously been both a coffin factory and a boathouse, and is a family business run by father and son, Terje and Erlend Mjøs. They proudly carry on the village's tradition of welcoming visitors and locals alike. But in a new era, where Hosanger is increasingly visited by people from all over the world. Largely due to Kossdalsvegen and the 17 spectacular bends up the mountain pass at the end of the valley. The premises on the ground floor, with original timber walls and maritime decor, where the 3-course dinner is served, is normally used for pub evenings, intimate concerts, pop-up dinners, private events and more. Fjærå Sjøhus has promised us an exciting menu featuring among other things langoustine and monkfish, and we hope as many as possible would like to join us for this year's 3-course dinner during Håsong. 3-course menu Langoustine soup Root vegetables · sea roe · toasted sourdough bread · wild garlic butter Monkfish Broccolini · parsnip purée · cured ham · chanterelle sauce Chantilly cream Fresh fruit · lemon curd Photo: Rune Langeland - ReservarBønes25.09.2026

Gamle Vossebanen - veterantog med damplokomotiv og spisevogn - 2. august 2026
That makes perfect sense! No problem at all. Here is the translation: Take a journey back in time to the golden age of railways, to a time of uniform buttons with the royal coat of arms, the sound of wooden carriage doors slamming shut, and the locomotive whistle saying "all aboard" and the train can go. Relax and enjoy a wonderful Sunday excursion while the landscape rolls past the train windows. The trip is run with a steam locomotive and teak carriages from the 1920s and 30s. Along the way you can experience a beautiful landscape and impressive engineering, close to lakes and water on one side, and steep mountain slopes on the other. Garnes stasjon is Museet Gamle Vossebanen's main station and two of the train trips start from here. The trip from Midttun will have a longer stop at Garnes. Garnes stasjon has its own museum exhibition, station kiosk, souvenir shop, and otherwise a fine opportunity to look at locomotives and carriages in the station area. On this day we also have a visit from a professional trio – Boggien Dampjazzband – who play light music in the carriages throughout the day. First round trip with arrival no later than 10:45. Departure Garnes 11:00. The trip goes to Midttun and returns to Garnes at 13:00. Second round trip with arrival no later than 11:55. Departure Midttun 12:10. The trip goes to Garnes and returns to Midttun at 15:05. Third round trip with arrival no later than 14:00. Departure Garnes 14:15. The trip goes to Midttun and returns to Garnes at 16:15. The dining car is polished to perfection with real porcelain, white tablecloths, a chef, maître d' and waiters. Let yourself be tempted by food made on board the train, to buy tickets for a train trip (approximately two hours), and reserve a seat in the dining car (approximately one hour) for a wonderful meal on the train. Reserving a seat in the dining car must be done in addition to purchasing a ticket: https://njk.no/opplevelser/spisevogn/spisevognbestilling Please note: For gluten-free and vegan dishes this must be stated as a comment in the table reservation form.
