Descubre Hardanger por carretera

Emprende un viaje en coche entre paisajes naturales preciosos. La ruta panorámica noruega de Hardanger tiene una longitud de 165 kilómetros y se divide en cuatro tramos diferentes: Granvin-Steinsdalsfossen, Norheimsund-Tørvikbygd, Jondal-Utne y Kinsarvik-Låtefoss.

Visita una parte de Noruega que ha inspirado durante mucho tiempo a artistas a plasmar su esplendor natural.

La forma más fácil de llegar a Hardanger es volar a Bergen, alquilar un coche y conducir unas dos o tres horas. Otra opción es volar a Oslo o a Kristiansand y conducir unas cinco o seis horas, también con coche de alquiler. Ten en cuenta que las carreteras son estrechas y sinuosas, así que tómate tu tiempo y utiliza los apartaderos.

Un buen punto de partida es la extravagante ciudad de Odda, donde incluso podrás pasar la noche en una singular casa del árbol Woodnest.

Odda es la base perfecta para explorar la naturaleza de la zona, como...

… la enorme cascada de Låtefossen. Se encuentra a unos 20 minutos al sur de Odda en coche y se atraviesan carreteras serpenteantes y con países alucinantes. Es un comienzo o final perfecto para la ruta panorámica.

Atraviesa el puente de piedra para contemplar el salto del agua hacia al río.

A solo 10 minutos al norte de Odda encontrarás Tyssedal, punto de partida de la famosa excursión Trolltunga. Si te apetece un reto difícil, puedes recorrer los 27 kilómetros que separan la formación rocosa que sobresale 700 metros sobre el lago Ringedalsvatnet.

La excursión dura entre 8 y 12 horas. Si quieres hacerla en invierno, es mejor ir con un guía.

Puedes ir al museo de la energía en Tyssedal y aprender más sobre la energía hidroeléctrica noruega, o visitar el baño real del káiser Guillermo II. Visitaba Noruega con frecuencia a principios del siglo XX y se le atribuye el inicio del turismo de fiordos en Noruega.

    Buer valley - astonishing glacial landscape

    Starting point Buer in Odda. Drive off from route 13, signposted Buer. Drive to the end of the road where you will find the parking. About the trail You will walk next to the river for most of the hike up to the glacier. Some places there are bridges where you cross the river. The whole hike is in wild and lush landscape, and you can see the glacier in front of you the whole way. In some parts of the hike you will find ropes to make it easier to climb. The last part of the trail is in steep terrain, and sturdy hiking boots are necessary. Important! Do NOT go near the glacier. The glacier is in constant movement, and going near the glacier can be very dangeours. For guided tours on the glacier, contact the tourist information in Odda. Trailhead and parking: By the National Park Farm at Buer. Campervans welcome.     Trolltunga - also known as the Troll's Tongue - is the most spectacular rock formation in Norway. At 1180 meters above sea level, is lies about 700 meters above the lake Ringedalsvatnet. From the top, you have a fantastic view. The hike to Trolltunga starts in Skjeggedal and leads through the high mountains.

    Starting point Freim. Follow route 13 towards Tyssedal from Odda. 300 meters after the bridge over the Opo river, take the first road on the right, then first left up Freimsvegen. About the trail The trail starts at the end of the Freimsvegen road. Follow signs to Rossnos and Freimsstølen. From Freimsstølen, the trail is marked to Rossnos. Very steep until Freimstølen. Then undulating terrain until you reach the peak. Amazing views overlooking Odda, the Folgefonna glacier and the fjord below. Be aware of steep cliffs. Parking: Park in the centre of Odda. Unos 27 kilómetros más adelante llegarás a Espenes, donde verás tanto un mirador para hacer fotos como un área de descanso con un diseño único.

No te pierdas las originales e interesantes áreas de descanso (y baños) que hay a lo largo de la ruta. Quizás te suene raro, pero todas las rutas panorámicas noruegas tienen baños con diseños únicos (artículo en inglés) en lugares pintorescos.

Aunque no necesites ir al baño, vale la pena pasarse para contemplar las vistas.

Las áreas de descanso de esta ruta están en Espenes, Hereiane, Tyrvefjøra, Kvanndal y Skjervsfossen.

Si sigues durante unos 30 kilómetros por Sørfjorden, un brazo del fiordo de Hardanger, llegarás a los idílicos pueblos de Lofthus y Kinsarvik.

Quédate una o dos noches para disfrutar de las vistas al fiordo, las colinas onduladas y las majestuosas montañas.

Es una parada ideal para comer: hay varias panaderías y restaurantes locales y en temporada se pueden comprar cerezas, fresas y frambuesas recién recogidas en puestos junto a la carretera. A menudo basta con dejar unas monedas en una caja y llevarte una cestita.

Si buscas algo más lujoso, alójate en el histórico hotel Ullensvang. Su spa de primera clase, con un canal exterior para nadar y vistas espectaculares al fiordo, es toda una experiencia.

Esta zona rebosa de belleza natural y está llena de rutas de senderismo increíbles.

Si tienes experiencia en montaña, atrévete con Dronningstien, o la ruta panorámica de la reina Sonia de Noruega. Son entre 6 y 9 horas de caminata con un desnivel de 1100 metros.

Toma el ferri de 30 minutos desde Kinsarvik hasta el histórico pueblo de Utne. ¿Quieres alojarte en un sitio auténtico? El hotel Utne, el hotel de madera más antiguo de Noruega, empezó como posada en 1722. Dato curioso: siempre lo han dirigido mujeres con mucha personalidad.

Si te diriges al suroeste por la estrecha carretera que va de Utne a Jondal, en una hora aproximadamente llegarás a un ferri que cruza el fiordo hacia Tørvikbygd.

¿Y qué te parecería desviarte al pintoresco pueblo de Rosendal antes de cruzar? Allí puedes visitar el castillo más pequeño de Escandinavia, Baroniet, construido en 1665.

A solo 20 minutos en coche desde la terminal del ferri en Tørvikbygd te espera la mágica cascada Steinsdalsfossen. Además, puedes caminar por detrás de ella sin mojarte gracias a una plataforma.

Para verla con su mayor caudal, lo ideal es visitarla en mayo o junio.

Sigue conduciendo por las sinuosas carreteras junto al fiordo durante unos 30 minutos hasta llegar a otro precioso lugar de descanso: Steinstøberget.

Hay servicios, zonas para sentarse y bancos junto al fiordo desde donde puedes contemplar las vistas del fiordo de Hardanger y el imponente glaciar Folgefonna. Incluso hay un lugar justo al borde del agua, por si te apetece pescar.

Disfruta de los últimos 30 minutos de la ruta panorámica mientras conduces hacia Granvin por otra carretera estrecha y serpenteante. Si aún te queda algo de tiempo, puedes hacer un pequeño desvío: la cascada Skjervsfossen está a solo 10 minutos en coche. También es un buen punto de inicio si prefieres hacer la ruta en sentido contrario.

Haz una pausa en una de las áreas de descanso para contemplar las cascadas gemelas que se precipitan desde 150 metros de altura.

Atención: la carretera a la cascada está cerrada en invierno.

Si tienes tiempo, merece la pena continuar por el puente de Hardanger. Es uno de los puentes colgantes más largos del mundo y conecta las orillas sur y norte del fiordo. Hay aparcamientos a ambos lados del puente y puedes cruzarlo en coche, en bici o a pie.

Tras cruzarlo, conduce unos 20 minutos más hasta llegar al encantador pueblo de Eidfjord. Pasea por el centro o anímate a hacer alguna de las muchas rutas de senderismo de la zona.

A pocos minutos en coche por un túnel serpenteante desde Eidfjord se encuentra la imponente cascada Vøringsfossen.

Aquí comienza otra ruta de la región: la ruta panorámica de Hardangervidda. Tiene 67 kilómetros de longitud y va hacia el este, entre Eidfjord y Haugastøl.

Ten en cuenta que la carretera está abierta todo el año, pero las condiciones meteorológicas en invierno pueden afectar a la conducción y provocar cierres temporales.

Qué debes saber antes de ir

Hay dos cruces en ferri a lo largo de la ruta: entre Tørvikbygd–Jondal y Kinsarvik–Utne–Kvandal. Obtén más información sobre los horarios de ferri.

Información para ciclistas: ten cuidado con el tráfico en verano. Evita los túneles entre Kinsarvik y Odda, y luego hasta Låtefossen, y ve por la carretera exterior.

Algunas partes de la carretera 13 (Skjervsvegen) están cerradas en invierno, lo que significa que no se puede acceder a la cascada Skjervsfossen en esa época del año.

El mejor momento para hacer esta ruta en coche es entre abril y octubre. A menos que tengas mucha experiencia conduciendo en condiciones invernales, no se recomienda hacer esta ruta en invierno.

Consejo: si viajas en autocaravana y no te gustan las carreteras estrechas, puedes tomar la carretera del este entre Utne y Odda.
