Las islas Lofoten encierran una fuerte conexión con la Edad Vikinga, y en el Museo Vikingo Lofotr, en Borg, puedes explorar cómo vivían los vikingos a través de una reconstrucción de la mayor casa comunal vikinga que jamás se haya encontrado perteneciente a esta época. La casa tiene 83 metros de largo.

Debido a la cálida corriente del Golfo, Lofoten tiene un clima mucho más suave que otras partes del mundo que se encuentran a la misma latitud. Entre finales de mayo y mitad de julio puedes experimentar el sol de medianoche, mientras que las auroras boreales se pueden ver desde septiembre a mediados de abril.

Aquí puedes alojarte en un rorbu (una antigua cabaña de pescadores) y saborear los platos de pescado más populares: el bacalao ártico (skrei) y el bacalao seco.

Un tiempo que puede cambiar rápidamente y unas magníficas condiciones lumínicas han inspirado y atraído a artistas a esta zona durante varias décadas, una huella que ha quedado plasmada en sus numerosas galerías de arte y exposiciones fotográficas.

Estaciones del año y clima en Lofoten

Si te encuentras en una zona donde no hay, llévate los residuos y deshazte de ellos cuando sea posible.

5. UTILIZA LOS ASEOS PÚBLICOS

Si no hay ninguno, métete en el mar o haz un agujero en el suelo.

Evita utilizar toallitas húmedas, ya que tardan mucho tiempo en descomponerse.

6. RESPETA LA PROPIEDAD PRIVADA

Está prohibido acampar a menos de 150 metros de una casa o cabaña habitadas.

Solo es posible acampar en terrenos cultivados si se ha llegado a un acuerdo con el propietario del terreno.

7. CONDUCE CON CUIDADO

Las carreteras en las Lofoten son bastante estrechas, pero están muy transitadas. Mantén una distancia prudente con los ciclistas al adelantarlos. Presta especial atención a las bicicletas en los túneles.

8. PROHIBIDO ENCENDER FUEGOS

Está prohibido hacer fuego al aire libre durante los meses de verano.

Utiliza las zonas habilitadas para ello y asegúrate de que no haya riesgo de incendios forestales.

9. RESPETA LA FAUNA

Evita molestar a los animales sin motivo. Los perros deben llevar correa en todo momento.

10. POR MOTIVOS MEDIOAMBIENTALES, así como para garantizar la seguridad y una mejor experiencia, recomendamos las actividades organizadas por un operador turístico.
