Hike to Fløya and Djevelporten (590 m)
Fløya is a mountain, towering over Svolvær in Lofoten with the famous and characteristic Svolværgeita in front. On the hike up to this mountain you will pass Djevelporten («The Devil’s Gate”), which is a large rock stuck in a gorge. There are also Sherpa stairs, called Djeveltrappa («The Devil’s Stairs») - an attraction in itself.

Acampar en las Lofoten

Las Lofoten se han vuelto muy populares entre los campistas, pero hay varios sitios donde no está permitido montar una tienda o aparcar una caravana. Busca un lugar con instalaciones para acampar o uno de los muchos campings oficiales de las islas. (Se recomienda reservar con antelación durante la temporada alta).

Naturaleza vulnerable

La naturaleza ártica es extremadamente delicada. Sigue siempre los senderos señalizados y no crees otros nuevos. Utiliza los aseos públicos siempre que sea posible y recoge tu basura.

En Noruega existe una prohibición general de hacer fuego al aire libre, conocida como bålforbud, del 15 de abril al 15 de septiembre. Está prohibido encender hogueras, fogatas, utilizar parrillas desechables y otros fuegos en bosques y zonas no cultivadas, o cerca de ellos, para evitar incendios forestales.

Respeta a los locales

Las Lofoten son maravillosas, pero recuerda que también son el hogar de muchas personas. No hagas fotos a la gente sin pedir permiso y compra productos y servicios locales para apoyar a la comunidad. Algunas carreteras son estrechas y tienen arcenes para que pasen los coches. Ten cuidado al conducir y no los utilices para aparcar.

Cómo llegar y desplazarse

En avión
Hay vuelos regulares frecuentes desde la mayoría de ciudades de Noruega hasta el aeropuerto de Bodø, el aeropuerto Harstad/Narvik, el aeropuerto de Svolvær, el aeropuerto de Leknes y el aeropuerto de Røst Airport.
El vuelo de Oslo a Bodø tarda una hora y media y de allí a las Lofoten, unos 20 o 30 minutos más en avión o unas tres o cuatro horas en barco. Si sales desde Harstad/Evenes, tardarás entre dos horas y media y cuatro horas en coche o autobús a las Lofoten.
También existe una conexión en helicóptero entre Bodø and Værøy.

En coche
Si eliges la carretera hay varias opciones para llegar y salir de Lofoten.
Si vienes desde el norte, hay una conexión por carretera entre el continente y las islas Lofoten, y sin necesidad de coger ningún barco.

En autobús
Puedes usar autobuses públicos que van cada día de Narvik, Bodø y Harstad hasta Svolvær. El autobús Airport Express también tiene salidas regulares desde el aeropuerto de Harstad/Narvik (Evenes) hacia Lofoten-Svolvær.

En tren
Hay trenes diarios a Narvik todo el año desde Kiruna y Estocolmo y, desde Narvik, puedes seguir en autobús hasta las islas Lofoten.
También puedes coger el tren que va de Oslo a Trondheim y continuar desde allí en tren hasta Bodø con el ferrocarril Nordland, que tarda unas diez horas. En Bodø, se puede coger un ferri o un barco exprés a las Lofoten.

En ferry
Hay barcos expresos de pasajeros, con salidas diarias regulares, que operan todo el año entre Bodø, Svolvær y Værøy.
Hay ferris para transporte de coches entre Bodø y varios lugares en Lofoten, y entre algunas de las islas.
Tanto en dirección norte como en dirección sur, Hurtigruten, el Expreso del Litoral Noruego, hace escala a diario en Stamsund y Svolvær en Lofoten. Los barcos de Havila Voyages pasan por las Lofoten, tanto en las rutas hacia el sur como al norte, y paran en Stamsund y Svolvær.

Moverse por Lofoten
La E10 (la carretera del rey Olaf V) es la principal carretera que conecta Lofoten de oeste a este. Viajar en transporte público requiere un poco de planificación, especialmente si quieres ir a cualquier lugar lejos de la E10, por lo que deberías comprobar los horarios con detalle.
