En moto de nieve
Hay tan solo 46 kilómetros de carreteras en las islas Svalbard. Y circular (en coche o en moto) por fuera de esas carreteras está terminantemente prohibido.
Muchas localidades no están conectadas entre sí por carretera. Los vecinos suelen desplazarse en barco en verano y en moto de nieve en invierno. En Longyearbyen es posible alquilar motos de nieve.

No hay un transporte regular en barco que una la Noruega continental y las islas Svalbard.
Varias agencias locales ofrecen excursiones y circuitos por Svalbard, pero estos no incluyen el desplazamiento desde y hasta el continente. Ten en cuenta esto a la hora de planificar tu viaje.

Hay vuelos diarios entre la Noruega continental y Svalbard durante todo el año, con mayor frecuencia durante el verano.
El vuelo dura unas 3 horas desde Oslo, y entre 1.5 y 2 horas desde Tromsø.
