En las estaciones de esquí de Noruega, la temporada es larga, las condiciones de la nieve son buenas y las pistas están perfectamente acondicionadas, para que puedas divertirte y sentirte seguro sin importar la edad que tengas.

Imagínate que tienes tres años y te deslizas por primera vez por una ladera de nieve. ¡Qué aventura! Pues a esta misma edad, uno de nuestros más grandes héroes de la montaña, Aksel Lund Svindal, pasó su primer día esquiando y recuerda muy bien cómo se sintió en aquella ocasión.

Mucho más que curvas y nieve

Noruega está considerada como un paraíso para el esquí, y no sólo debido a lo larga que es su temporada, o a las excelentes condiciones de la nieve. La razón principal es que se ofrece algo único para cada persona. Se puede jugar en las pistas infantiles, recorrer una pista roja, o probar nieve en polvo de condiciones perfectas arriba en las montañas; lo importante es que te diviertas mientras lo haces.

Encontrarás centros turísticos muy acogedores para toda la familia en cualquier punto del país, y la mayoría de ellos tienen escuelas de esquí con personal que estará encantado de enseñar a los niños a dar sus primeros pasos sobre unos esquíes. El rasgo común de todos estos lugares es que trabajan duro para que los espacios sean seguros y agradables para todos los visitantes. Muchas estaciones tienen remontes de esquí justo en tu puerta, lo que significa que podrás ir esquiando, literalmente, hasta tu habitación para descansar allí después de un largo día en las pistas. Y después de un rápido cambio de ropa, puedes acostarte y relajarte con una deliciosa comida y bebida justo a unos pasos de allí.

Si quieres explorar diferentes tipos de estaciones de esquí, hay multitud de lugares para elegir. Oslo ofrece un variado y emocionante parque invernal a poco más de 30 minutos del centro de la ciudad, y algunos de los centros de esquí más grandes del país están situados en el este de Noruega, a un paso de la capital.

En el Norte de Noruega puedes esquiar con amplias vistas al mar. En la Noruega de los fiordos encontrarás paisajes espectaculares con altas cumbres y fantásticas posibilidades para los amantes de la nieve polvo. Y si quieres algo más familiar, tú y tus hijos podéis disfrutar de un día soleado en una estación de esquí que se mantiene abierta durante el verano.

    Nieve también en verano

    Si pensabas que la primavera señala el final de la temporada de esquí, deberías saber que hay estaciones de esquí a gran altitud donde podrás divertirte en la nieve durante todo el verano.

    Sin embargo, es importante empezar a esquiar pronto por la mañana. Los glaciares pueden estar congelados al principio, pero se ablandan con los primeros rayos de sol para proporcionar unas cuantas horas de buen esquí. Hacia mediodía las pistas se convierten en fangosas con la nieve medio derretida. El momento perfecto para una buena cerveza fría, pegarse un chapuzón o tomar el sol.

    El horario de apertura de estos centros de esquí depende de las condiciones meteorológicas, así que no olvides consultar la previsión antes de salir.

    10 normas de actuación al hacer esquí o snowboard

    1. Evita poner en peligro a otras personas o a ti mismo/a.

    2. Ajusta la velocidad en función de tus capacidades, del terreno y de las condiciones climatológicas.

    3. Respeta la obligación de ceder el paso a los que vayan delante de ti.

    4. Deja siempre espacio suficiente para movimientos voluntarios o involuntarios al adelantar a otros.

    5. Asegúrate de prestar atención a los demás al descender o subir a lo alto de una ladera.

    6. No te detengas ni te sientes en zonas estrechas o en las que la visibilidad es reducida.

    7. Utiliza los márgenes de la pista cuando te desplaces a pie.

    8. Presta siempre atención a señales, carteles e indicaciones.

    9. Todo el mundo está obligado a prestar ayuda en caso de accidente o lesión.

    10. Todos los testigos, ya tengan responsabilidad o no, están obligados a dejar sus datos de contacto en el lugar del accidente.
