In the evening you can fall asleep under a magnificent starry sky, and wake up the next day to warming sunbeams through the windows. The cosy veranda extends around the entire cabin, and is equipped with furniture suited for long days in the sun and evening shelter around the fire. Here you can simply enjoy the tranquillity and calmness of nature, and also partake in a number of activities available both in summer and winter. You have free kick-sledges and snowshoeing. Our own cross-country trails let you experience the forest and the waterfall in a very special way in the winter terrain. Around the cabin there are endless miles of untouched snowy landscape - perfect for a ski trip or a trip with the dog-sledding company Hedalen Husky. In summer you can enjoy the beautiful forest. Do you like quiet forest walks or maybe you want to catch your own fish? Or go for a bike ride through the woods? The area is also great for off-road cycling! The cabin was built in 2017, and is secured to pine trees, 6 meters above the ground located near the waterfall. It contains a living room / kitchen, bathroom and spacious sleeping alcove with double bed, as well as a large and airy loft. The cabin accommodates 5 people and has all the necessary amenities. You can drive directly to the cabin all year round. Meet Our Alaskan Huskies We have 35 happy and social Alaskan Huskies – energetic, cuddly, and always ready for adventure. A visit to the kennel is an experience in itself. Summer Activity: Husky Cart Rides In summer, we offer rides where the dogs pull a specially designed cart. In Rakkestad, Joakim has built a very special place approx. 3 km into the forest and up in the trees.Here you can enjoy a good book, look at the stars, listen to the tree tops and bird singing. Imagine sitting in the woods in the trees and just enjoying the tranquility of the forest. The wooden top cabin is located in the forest between Rakkestad and Aremark. Not far away from Linnekleppen lookout tower which is a popular hiking destination. Another place not far away is the idyllic Strømsfoss if you want to experience something more in the immediate surroundings. Or there are several nice walking opportunities in the local area. The cabin / treehouse can accommodate 2 people and consists of: 1 room / bedroom / loft approx 25m2 flat + loft Bed linen is included WC is located inside the cabin Fully equipped kitchen with sink, refrigerator with gas burner, as well as one gas burner outdoors on the patio table. SteinkjerKvam Motell & Camping
Year-round camping, a motel, and a tree-top cabin located in beautiful surroundings on the shores of Lake Snåsavatnet, right by the E6. Here, you'll find tent spaces, spots for motorhomes and caravans, cabins of various price ranges, and rooms in the motel building. Internet coverage is available at the campsite. We have a lovely and family-friendly beach. Ideal for canoe and kayak excursions, island hopping, with many beautiful islands to explore. For fitness enthusiasts and hikers, sports facilities are nearby, along with marked hiking trails. There is a store conveniently located near the campsite. Introducing the Almatoppen tree-top cabin - new in May 2020. From Almatoppen, you can enjoy views of Lake Snåsavatnet. The cabin, designed for 2 people, features a double bed, a kitchen, and a seating area. There's a terrace where you can savor meals and drinks while taking in the fantastic view. It has electricity but no running water. Bedding is provided in the cabin, and bed linen and sheets can be rented or purchased at the reception. Dining Options: We offer simple hot dishes, as well as coffee, waffles, soft drinks, and ice cream. Additionally, we have a fully licensed pub. Boat Rental: We have 2 rowboats and an aluminum boat with a 6HP motor. You can purchase fishing licenses at the reception - there are excellent conditions for trout fishing in Lake Snåsavatnet. A fishing guide is available upon request. Grill and Campfire Area: This can be found by the water and is free for your use. In the motel building, you'll find banquet halls, a bar, a fireplace lounge, a TV lounge, a tourist kitchen, and restroom facilities.
