Montar en bicicleta es una de las mejores maneras de ver la espectacular naturaleza noruega a tu ritmo. Pedaleando puedes explorar los fiordos, las montañas del este del país y hasta las islas del norte bañadas por el sol de medianoche. He aquí 13 de las mejores rutas ciclistas de todo el país.
No hace falta que estés en tu mejor forma para salir de viaje en bicicleta por Noruega, a pesar de que el país es extenso y montañoso. Lo mejor de emprender un largo viaje en bicicleta es que puedes decidir exactamente cuándo parar y cuánto quieres avanzar en cada etapa.
Hemos seleccionado para ti una serie de rutas en bicicleta de larga distancia que siempre puedes acortar –o incluso alargar– en función de lo que más te apetezca hacer. Estos recorridos son asequibles para la mayoría de la gente. Pero si la carretera se te hace un poco larga y el equipaje demasiado pesado, siempre puedes alquilar una bici eléctrica y ahorrar energías. Otra opción es que te apuntes a un plan cerrado con alojamiento y comidas incluidos. ¡Y transporte de equipaje si lo deseas!

La Rallarvegen, o ruta de los peones camineros, ha sido nombrada varias veces el recorrido en bicicleta más hermoso de Noruega. Cada año más de 25.000 personas siguen la carretera de gravilla que va desde Haugastøl, cerca de Geilo (en el Este de Noruega), hasta Flåm, en la Noruega de los fiordos. La ruta avanza junto a las famosas líneas de tren de Bergen y Flåm. Algo que no es ninguna sorpresa, ya que el nombre de la vía hace referencia precisamente a los trabajadores que ayudaron a construir la infraestructura necesaria para el funcionamiento del ferrocarril.
El trayecto más común es el que sale del puerto de montaña de Haugastøl, a 1.000 metros por encima del nivel del mar, y se extiende a lo largo de 82 kilómetros. Pasa por Finse, Hallingskeid y Myrdal antes de llegar a la preciosa aldea de Flåm, junto al fiordo Aurlandsfjord. El punto de mayor altitud de la Rallarvegen, en Fagernut, alcanza los 1.310 metros. Aún así, la mayoría del trayecto es cuesta abajo. Por suerte, en Fagernut puedes hacer un descanso en la cafetería y pedir un par de gofres con mermelada y crema agria.
Es posible hacer todo el recorrido en un solo día, pero la mayoría de la gente lo divide en dos o tres etapas. Una buena opción es contratar un programa que incluye alojamiento, comidas, bicicleta de alquiler y billetes de tren.
Para recorrer Rallarvegen sí es necesario estar en buena forma, ya que algunos tramos pueden resultar exigentes. Si quieres evitar que la vía esté muy concurrida, ven en temporada baja.

Una de las mejores zonas de Noruega para montar en bici es Valdres, en el Este de Noruega. Aquí puedes pedalear a lo largo de cientos de kilómetros de rutas señalizadas que discurren por carreteras de montaña con poco tráfico. La más larga es la de Mjølkevegen, con 250 kilómetros, pero no tienes que recorrerla entera de una sola vez. Puedes planificar las etapas para ir a tu propio ritmo, ya sean cortas o más exigentes. También puedes usar un sitio como base de la que salir de excursión cada día.
El trayecto entre Vinstra, en Gudbrandsdalen, y Gol, en Hallingdal, está considerado uno de los más bonitos de Noruega para montar en bici. También es parte de una de las rutas ciclistas nacionales (la número 5). Cuenta con señalización en ambos sentidos y discurre por una zona que en verano está llena de granjas de montaña y refugios en los que parar a descansar o incluso a pasar la noche. También hay varios hoteles a lo largo de la carretera.
Hay algunas alternativas a pedalear a lo largo de toda la Mjølkevegen. Un ejemplo es la ruta de Lemonsjø a Beitostølen, de 205 kilómetros. También, la que va desde Vaset a Storefjell, de 35 kilómetros de largo y apta para toda la familia.
Puedes alquilar una bicicleta o una bici eléctrica en varios sitios a lo largo de la ruta. Algunas agencias ofrecen paquetes que incluyen alojamiento, comidas y transporte de equipaje.

No solo los barcos cruzan el canal de Telemark. Enlazando con el canal, considerado en su momento la octava maravilla del mundo, rutas para montar en bicicleta salen en todas direcciones. Estos senderos cuentan con paneles informativos que incluyen el nivel de dificultad. Puedes elegir entre los de gravilla, los asfaltados, o los que mezclan ambos terrenos.
La ruta del canal, de 115 kilómetros de largo, te conduce a través de paisajes impresionantes llenos de naturaleza virgen en Telemark. El recorrido sigue la ruta ciclista nacional número 2 desde Ulefoss hasta Dalen. Al menos dos días son necesarios para completar el viaje. En Eidsfoss puedes cruzar las esclusas del canal subido en la bici. Y si vas justo de fuerzas, siempre puedes subir a uno de los barcos que cruzan el canal para llegar a tu destino.
Por el camino encontrarás alojamientos perfectos para los aficionados a las dos ruedas, como las divertidos sleeping boxes en Bandaksli y Fjågesund. Si no te apetece organizar tú mismo todo el viaje, puedes optar por alguno de los paquetes que incluyen alojamiento, comidas y billetes de barco.
La ruta del canal está considerada un recorrido exigente y no está indicada para niños o ciclistas con poca experiencia. Pero muchos de los otros trayectos son más sencillos y asequibles para toda la familia. Los más pequeños puede que hasta hagan encantados unos cuantos kilómetros más para pasar el día en el parque acuático Bø sommarland.

El tour de Dovre discurre a través de tres parques nacionales, los de Rondane, Dovre y Dovrefjell. Desde tu sillín podrás admirar fantásticas vistas de las montañas, de los fiordos y de los valles. Hay un montón de opciones de alojamiento a lo largo del camino, así que puedes hacer el recorrido en tantas etapas como te apetezca. Coge el tren hasta Dombås y alquila allí una bicicleta. Luego toma la carretera Nasjonalparkveien hacia Hjerkinn. El viaje continúa a través del valle de Folldalen antes de adentrarte en el que muchos consideran el valle más hermoso de Noruega, el de Grimsdalen. Desde allí, emprende el camino de vuelta hacia Dovre y Dombås.
Optando por el trayecto mas corto, el viaje supone unos 125 kilómetros. Pero si tienes un par de días libres te aconsejamos que los dediques a explorar algunas de las rutas secundarias. Puedes hacer una excursión para ver alces o bueyes almizcleros, o una visita llena de arte en Hjerkinn. También es buena idea caminar hasta el mirador Snøhetta (un kilómetro y medio a pie) o subir a lo alto de la montaña que le da nombre (Snøhetta).
Se trata de un recorrido considerado exigente, pero si lo divides en varias etapas más cortas lo puedes hacer fácilmente. Y si necesitas un empujoncito, alquila una bici eléctrica. Además, por el camino encontrarás un montón de deliciosa comida local para tener las pilas bien cargadas.

Elige uno de los tramos más hermosos: el que va de Egersund hasta Sola, en la Noruega de los fiordos, también conocido como Jærruta. Avanzarás sobre el sillín junto a las playas de Jæren y bajo una luz que ha sido inspiración de pintores, fotógrafos y escritores. Si quieres hacer un viaje más largo, puedes seguir pedaleando en dirección norte hacia Stavanger y Haugesund, o bien en sentido contrario hacia Kristiansand, en el Sur de Noruega.
Alójate en algún hotel o pensión, o en un faro, en alguna cabaña en las montañas o en un camping. Por el camino encontrarás montones de sitios para comer, muchos de los cuales trabajan fundamentalmente con ingredientes locales. Aquí puedes pedalear a lo largo de la ruta de la costa (o kystriksveien), considerada una de las carreteras más bonitas del mundo, rodeado de majestuosas montañas, playas de arena blanca y miles de islas e islotes.
No dudes en subir a algún ferry o lancha rápida para desplazarte de isla en isla. Sin duda deberías visitar el archipiélago de Vega, protegido por la Unesco, o las preciosas islas de Herøy y Dønna, o Træna, que se eleva por sorpresa 338 metros a dos horas y media mar adentro.
Puede ser buena idea contratar un programa cerrado. Así no te perderás ninguna de las paradas obligadas a lo largo de la ruta, como el monte Torghatten, por ejemplo. También existe la opción de transportar el equipaje por ti, para no tener que cargar con él.

Si vas en bicicleta por Noruega, estás sujeto a las mismas normas de circulación que los coches y otros vehículos:

• No cojas la bici si has bebido.
Puedes ir en bicicleta por la acera, pero reduce tu velocidad.
No puedes circular por autovías y autopistas.
Solo los niños de menos de 10 años se pueden llevar como pasajeros en la bici.
Usa siempre el casco cuando vayas en bicicleta. Un chaleco reflectante también puede ser una buena idea, sobre todo en carreteras con mucho tráfico.

Viaja a tu ritmo entre lugares de interés histórico y arraigadas tradiciones en Innherred. El recorrido te lleva, literalmente, de receta en receta, ya que la Ruta Dorada es famosa por sus especialidades elaboradas con productos locales y por sus planes ecológicos.
Comienza tu recorrido en Steinkjer y avanza en bici hasta Stiklestad (71 kilómetros). Allí podrás descubrir un lugar de gran importancia en la historia de Noruega, ya que es donde murió el rey Olaf II (que más tarde se convertiría en San Olaf) en una famosa batalla que derivó en la conversión del país al cristianismo. Haciendo los 549 kilómetros de la ruta completa, verás reclamos espectaculares como la Carretera del Atlántico, Trollstigen, el fiordo de Geiranger o el Hjørundfjord, entre otros.
Por el camino, cruzarás puentes que parecen estar suspendidos sobre el mar, pedalearás junto a preciosos fiordos que parecen no tener fin, atravesarás verdes valles y ascenderás colinas hasta lo alto de alguna montaña, antes de descender por la otra cara.
Aquí encontrarás una gran variedad de sitios para comer con ingredientes locales, sobre todo junto a los fiordos. Las opciones de alojamiento son también abundantes, ya sean típicas cabañas de pescadores u hoteles de alta gama.

La isla de Andøya se encuentra en Vesterålen, al norte de las islas Lofoten. Allí, en su extremo norte, encontrarás el precioso pueblo de pescadores de Andenes, donde puedes alquilar una bici y pedalear a lo largo de 100 kilómetros alrededor de la isla. Eso sí, antes quizás te apetezca apuntarte a un safari de ballenas.
Recorre sobre dos ruedas la hermosa ruta panorámica que discurre junto al mar en la parte oeste de la isla. No hace falta que madrugues mucho, ya que gracias al sol de medianoche tendrás suficiente luz hasta bien entrada la noche. Haz una parada junto al centro espacial antes de dirigirte hacia la hermosa localidad de Bleik, donde puedes darte un baño helado en la playa de arena blanca. Si necesitas hacer otro descanso, la zona de picnic de Bukkekjerka es el lugar perfecto. Y en la granja de Nordtun podrás degustar quesos deliciosos y acariciar una simpática llama. En la tienda y cafetería Alveland, en Dverberg, encontrarás riquísimos bollos de canela y curiosos recuerdos hechos con jabón.
Y si quieres quedarte una noche más aquí, puedes alojarte en Risøyhamn o en Dverberg. La ruta en bici transcurre por terreno más o menos plano, por lo que está indicada para todo el mundo.

¡Monta en bicicleta alrededor del lago más grande de Noruega! La ruta de Mjøstråkk se extiende a lo largo de 250 kilómetros y cruza hermosos paisajes y las ciudades de Gjøvik, Hamar y Lillehammer.
Tómate tu tiempo y haz algunas paradas por el camino. Aquí hay montones de cosas que ver y hacer, como el Museo de arte de Lillehammer, la fábrica de chocolate de Gjøvik (la más pequeña de Noruega), o el Domkirkeodden en Hamar, donde puedes admirar las ruinas de la catedral de Hamar, de 950 años de antigüedad. Y si viajas con los más pequeños de la casa, el parque de atracciones Hunderfossen (Hunderfossen Eventyrpark) es parada obligada.
